Hi, what are you looking for?

New York, NY, United States – 06-16-2022 (PR Distribution™) –

Woods is a long-standing brand with a storied past of over a century of firsts in exploration. In the 19th and 20th centuries, we designed cutting-edge gear for some of the most well-known explorers and expeditions in the world.

Today, we build on that legacy to craft reliable outdoor gear and apparel for modern-day adventures, from family campers to weekend warriors. Woods gear is at home everywhere from frontcountry campsites in your local state park, to backcountry hikes, and even in your own backyard!

At Woods, you’ll find quality, durable outdoor equipment made with the modern adventurer in mind, all fine-tuned from over a century of experience in the outdoors.

Founded in 1885 by James W. Woods, Woods has decades upon decades of experience designing outdoor apparel and gear. During this extensive history, we’ve supported countless pivotal expeditions in the world of outdoor adventure and exploration.

Our gear was carried by many of the prospectors in the Klondike Gold Rush (1896-1899), which saw over 100,000 prospectors travel to the rugged Klondike Yukon in search of gold. We outfitted Roald Amundsen and his crew as they became the first in history to navigate the Northwest Passage, connecting Greenland to Alaska in 1906. We equipped Allied soldiers with tents and sleeping bags during World War I. In 1925, we supported the first ascent of North America’s second-tallest mountain, Mt. Logan (19,551 feet). In 1950, we supported the first circumnavigation of North America, and in 1982, we supported the first Canadian team to summit Mt. Everest (29,032 feet).

Woods actually pioneered an early example of the modern sleeping bag, with our iconic “sleeping robes.” These sleeping bags played a role in dozens of monumental expeditions in the 20th century, such as Theodore Roosevelt Jr.’s 1925 expedition through Central Asia and Admiral Byrd’s three Antarctic expeditions. They’re even featured in the iconic Hemingway novel For Whom the Bell Tolls due to their use during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

When a customer buys a Woods product, they’re playing a role in our storied legacy. They’re trucking with backpacks, snoozing in sleeping bags, and bedding down in tents that have a lineage stretching back to some of the most famous explorers and adventurers of all time.

Woods has been around for generations, but in the modern day, outdoor adventure has become accessible to everyone, not just a handful of well-funded, prestigious expeditions.

Today, Woods marries the best of both worlds. We take the quality and durability of the expedition-level equipment we crafted in years past and blend it with the accessibility and affordability of the outdoor world today.

Our gear blends refined, heritage-inspired style with modern-day performance and convenience, all fine-tuned over decades upon decades of use, from the trenches of WWI to the ramparts of Mt. Everest to the icy tundras of the Arctic. These are meticulously-crafted outdoor products, with warmth, durability, and quality honed from 130+ years of experience.

Our iconic A-Frame tent is the perfect hub for a frontcountry basecamp. Twin doors offer easy access and the polyurethane-coated fly with taped seams provides exceptional water resistance.

Large “No-See-Um” mesh panels allow you to sleep under the stars protected from bugs, while a rugged water-resistant polyester ripstop floor and fly keep you sheltered from the rain. It packs down tight for easy storage and carry, too. This tent is available in four color schemes, Brown, Green, Blue, and Clay.

The Woods Mammoth Padded Chair brings at-home luxury to your backwoods campsite. Plush, oversized dimensions let you fully stretch out and relax on the durable 600-denier polyester fabric.

It sports a 400-pound weight capacity and includes a carry bag for easy storage and transport. In short, this chair is the ultimate way to unwind by the fire. This chair is available in four color schemes, Dijon, Green, Gun Metal, and Sea Spray.

When you need to snuggle up and stay warm after a long day on the trail, the Woods Heritage Sleeping Bag delivers. Rated to 5?, this four-season sleeping bag was built to last. It’s filled with 4.5 pounds of Hi-Loft synthetic polyester fill and has a thermo-layer with a draft tube for superior heat retention. The durable shell will stand up to years of rigorous adventure and the two-way zipper means you can join two Heritage bags together!

It’s a warm, comfortable sleeping bag that’s soft to the touch, but don’t take our word for it—Read our history! We designed one of the first iterations of the modern-day sleeping bag way back in 1906. Additional Heritage models offer temperature ratings of 35? and 14?, so there’s a Heritage bag for all seasons in our arsenal.

Become a campsite chef with the Woods Cast Iron Cook Set. The set includes a Dutch oven with lid, a pot with lid, two skillets (8” and 10”), a reversible griddle (20” x 9”), and a pot lifter (4”). With this complete cast iron set, you have the tools you need to cook all your favorite campsite meals or snacks over the fire.

This cookware is pre-seasoned cast iron, so you can fry, bake, stir-fry, or roast as soon as you receive your kit! The cookware also features dual pour spouts for added convenience. To make transport and storage easy, the set comes with a vintage wooden carry box, emblazoned with the iconic Woods logo.

With three adjustable backrest positions for maximum comfort and a 300 lb weight capacity, this camp chair offers premium luxury in a compact build. A heavy-duty rust-resistant steel frame provides maximum durability and stability. Extra padded backing makes for added comfort when lounging, and an integrated cup holder provides space for a beverage.

This four-season tent is available in 2-person and 4-person models and is one of our finest backcountry tents. A large door provides easy exit and entry, and the vestibule offers additional storage.

Reflective piping offers night visibility while the ultrastrong Powerlite aluminum poles provide burly support under high winds and heavy snow, but keep the tent lightweight, while the ripstop polyester shell will protect you from the harshest elements. Like our sleeping bags, this tent is the product of more than 100 years of innovation and craftsmanship.

The Lookout series (available in 4-person, 6-person, and 8-person models) makes for the ultimate three-season basecamp. The lightweight frame and double vestibules provide plenty of room for all your gear, and a lofty peak height (up to 6’6” in the 8-person model) and double doors mean the tent is spacious and comfortable for large, heavily-equipped parties. The Lookout also has excellent ventilation for increased airflow, and a water-resistant floor and fly.

We offer a variety of outdoor and utility wagons, perfect for carrying gear, food, and other supplies from the car to your frontcountry campsite. Ergonomic tow handles are comfortable and durable, and all wagons are also collapsible and packable, with included carry bags. You can easily fold up your wagon and sling it over your shoulder when on foot, or stow the wagon in your car for transport or inside your tent when not in use.

We offer both budget models with a 150-pound capacity and burlier wagons that can pack up to 225 pounds. The wagons feature blow-molded wheels that are suitable for even the most uneven, rocky terrain, and the rust-resistant steel frames can handle large quantities of heavy gear without buckling under pressure. Couple this with our weather-resistant, tearproof fabric and you have a wagon that will stand the test of time.
